.Ü.Onkoloji Enstitüsü Fifty-nine patients with advanced stage gastric carcinoma were treated between 1980 and 1985. FAM combination chemotherapy was given to all our patients. The tumour was differantiated in 48 patients and undifferantiated in 11 patients. The median survival was 9 months in the first group and although we have not reached the median survival in the second group it is still more than 14 months. Eight patients with undifferentiated carcinoma are still under control for 10 to 72 months. Our results show that the chemotherapy regimen is significantly effective to the undifferantiated carcinoma which is known to be a poor prognostic evidence. Keywords :
